Are you feeling overwhelmed? Have you reached your breaking point? Maybe you just
feel a little bit stressed. Has your TODO list has grown out of proportion? Stress is a fact
of life. We all experience these feelings at one time or another. How you react to this stress
is what is important.
Do you totally loose it, scream and throw your hands up in exhaustion? Maybe you break
down and cry. Believe me I have been there, and probably will be again. One of the ways
you can take your stress level down a peg or two is to stay in tuned with yourself. Just the
simple fact of being self-aware that your stress level is getting out of control will help you
to manage your stress level.
When you begin feeling that tightening in your stomach, your shoulders hunching up these
are the signs of onset-stress. Stop right then and there, sit back and close your eyes, practice
deep breathing. These easily done things can help more than you would ever imagine.
Practice self-indulgence or find a hobby that you can turn to. All these things will help you
cope. When things get overwhelming it is harder to gain back the control than if you merely
listen to your body.
Beginning today listen to that inner voice. Take time for you and you will find time your friend
once again.
